Our September Fun Shop was plein air painting taught by Barbara Egr, our 2018 Omaha Artists Inc. Memorial Scholarship winner. A new experience for many but with the patient and well planned instruction of Barbara Egr, a delightful experience! Our hosts Bruce and Sharon Clawson made the workshop seem like we were guests at a beautiful resort, miles from the city. Our Fun Shops are unique in that a different form of art is presented each month and taught by highly qualified instructors. I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and try something new and different, finding your own style and direction, even discovering an art medium or technique you have not tried
After the Fun Shop one of the attendees exclaimed that she was once again excited about painting. Often-times we get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing, creating the same way we have for months even years. Perhaps it is time to make a change. Understanding and learning from new experiences allows one to think outside the box, builds confidence and stretches the imagination. It is not particularly easy to step out of our comfort zone. Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”
Do you want to step outside your comfort zone and learn something new, improve your skills, make new friends? Come join us for our monthly Fun Shops and Luncheon Programs. Bring a friend – we welcome guests.
